Western Heights High School product Taylor Daniel has signed on to compete for the Southwestern Christian University bowling team in the fall of 2012.

The son of Lee and Jeanna Daniel, Taylor has previously competed in the high school division of the Oklahoma High School Bowling Conference, earning a conference championship in 2011 and 2012. He was named Bowler of the Month in March of 2012 at Meridian Lanes (Okla. City), took fifth place at the Junior Scratch Classic Tournament of Champions and sixth at the State Grand Prix Championship Tournament.

Taylor's non-Bowling honors include receiving the A.C.E. award for Accepting the Challenge of Excellence from the Exchange Club in April 2012, co-Captain of the Rebuilding Together OKC Teen Board, commendation from Western Heights and Governor Mary Fallin, President's Volunteer Service Award, Prudential Spirit of Community Award, and the Community Spirit Award from the Native American Club.

"Southwestern Christian University is exactly what I hoped to find when I was looking at colleges to attend," said Taylor. "SCU offers the degree I was looking for paired with a great Christian setting. Bowling for SCU will give me the opportunity to do something I am very passionate about and hopefully my skills will continue to improve under the direction of Coach Shaun Koonce."
