BETHANY, Okla. - The Southwestern Christian University women's basketball team cruised past the Central Baptist Lady Mustangs (9-10; 3-3 MCAC) on Friday night at the Pickens-Springer Gymnasium to improve their conference record to 4-2 this season.

The Lady Eagles played the Conway, Arkansas squad neck and neck in the first half of action with the Lady Mustangs holding a 26-25 lead going into the locker room. 

Southwestern regained the lead to open the second stanza and held on to a steady lead for the next twelve minutes. The Lady Mustangs finally wore down and SCU shot out to a twelve point lead with eight minutes remaining in the game. The Lady Eagles were able to extend that lead to 16 points with one minute remaining in the game and finally shut things down with a 58-46 victory over the Lady Mustangs.

The Lady Eagles shot 36.2 percent from the field on the night and were led in scoring by the dynamic duo of Porchea Sanders and Allie McIntosh who each had 13 points and four assists. Sanders also grabbed six boards. Ciara Thomas added ten points and eight rebounds against the Lady Mustangs. 

Central Baptist shot 31.7 and was led by senior guard Karli Kenley with 13 points.

The victory seats Southwestern Christian at fourth in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Standings - one notch ahead of Central Baptist. 

The Lady Eagles will host the MCAC's undefeated College of the Ozarks (18-3; 6-0 MCAC) on Saturday afternoon. Tip off is scheduled for 3pm.
