The SCU community is grieved after receiving news of the recent death of student Keene James.

James, a sophomore member of the men's track and field team at SCU, died at his home on the evening of Saturday, June 16th, 2012.

James helped lead the Eagles 4x200 meter relay team to a second place finish at the 2012 NCCAA National Indoor Championships in Cedarville, Ohio in February. He was also a member of the squad which placed fifth in the 4x100 meter relay event at the 2012 NCCAA National Outdoor Championships in Joliet, Illinois.

"Keene was a very good young man," commented Paul Parent, Head Coach of the men's track program at SCU. "He worked hard on the track and in the classroom. He will be greatly missed. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family."

The funeral services for Keene James are set for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 26th, at the First Assembly of God Church in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.
