Coach Parent will begin his 45^th year of coaching Cross Country and Track in the 2011 season. He launched his coaching career  in 1966 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma before going on to coach at several other high schools around the state of Oklahoma, including Verdigris, Perry, Putnam City West, and Heritage Hall. In 1979, Parent was named the Head Cross-Country/Track Coach at University of Central Oklahoma where he remained until 2001.  

Coach Parent received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northeastern Oklahoma State University before and is married to Pat Parent of whom he has three wonderful children with, all of whom teach and coach throughout the state of Oklahoma.
