Bethany, Okla. – The Southwestern Christian University women's soccer team ended their 2013 campaign on Wednesday evening after falling 1-0 to McMurry University in the first round of the NCCAA Central Region Tournament.
The Southwestern Christian women's soccer team returns to the pitch tonight at 5 pm for the opening round of the NCCAA Central Regional Tournament against the McMurry University War Hawks. The opening round will take place at Southern Nazarene University Wanda Rhodes Soccer complex.
The six-team tournament will be hosted by Southwestern Christian, beginning tonight and runs to Saturday, November 23rd.
Should the Lady Eagles defeat McMurry tonight they will then take on top-seed Dallas Baptist University Friday, Nov. 22nd. Kickoff is set for 12 pm, at Southwestern Christian University.
The Southwestern Christian University Lady Eagles' freshman goalkeeper Emily Oldacre has been named top defensive player of the week for the week ending November 3rd.
Oldacre had eight saves in a shutout victory against Oklahoma Baptist University. Oldacre went down in the 85th minute of play to a season ending knee injury.
Oldacre is the first SCU athlete to win Sooner Athletic Conference player of the week, since joining the conference this year.
Bethany, OK. – It was four years ago when the women's soccer program was in its inaugural season at Southwestern Christian University. Athletic Director, Mark Arthur brought in head coach Greg Andrews to build the SCU women's soccer program.
Shawnee, Okla. – SCU women's soccer team would end a five game losing skid Tuesday night by defeating Oklahoma Baptist. The Lady Eagles shocked the Lady Bison defeating one of the top teams in the Sooner Athletic Conference 1-0.
